· Taking a tea spoon of tryptych powder at bedtime, stirred in quarter glass of lukewarm water, is an effective remedy for diabetes and blood sugar patients.
· Give up all things white – white rice, white flour, white salt and white sugar.
· Switch from white rice to brown rice, from white flour pancake bread to that of multi grains, from white salt to rock salt, and from white sugar to jaggery and unrefined sugar.
· Start eating small amounts of raw turmeric and ginger regularly with meals.
· Grind five basil leaves, five peppercorns, five margosa leaves and five bael leaves to make globules which, when taken on an empty stomach in the morning, controls diabetes.
· Use organic products and different cold-pressed oils for cooking.
· Avoid refined oils and shift to mustard, sesame and olive oils for cooking.
· Take pure honey from an organic source, with water cooled to a drinkable temperature.
· Take fruits an hour before starting a meal, or at least 2-3 hours after your meal, but never with your meal.
· Don’t have apples, fruit juice or milk on an empty stomach in the morning if you are suffering from gas.
· Even milk should be taken separately, and not with breakfast or other meals.
· Eat a clove or a small piece of jaggery to curb acidity.
· Add rock salt and powdered dry ginger to buttermilk if you are suffering from diarrhea or dysentery.
· Increase your intake of liquids on days when you fast.
· Drink lemon water 3-4 times a day to keep high blood pressure under control.
· Refrain from eating heavy, difficult to digest food to break your fast.
· Never eat anything in excess – light breakfast, good working lunch, and light dinner are ideal.
· Maintain regular food timings and eat when you are actually hungry.
· Take a quarter spoon of a powdered mixture, made of equal proportion of pepper, dry ginger, long pepper and liquorice, with honey to cure cough and cold.
· Soak 2 pods of garlic in water overnight, cut and swallow them with a glass of fresh water in the morning, to cure rheumatism.
· To get relief from migraine attacks, put 3-4 drops of clarified butter (made from cow’s milk) into both your nostrils before going to bed at night.

· Small frequent meals will help decrease stress on the intestines.
· Bland soft foods like hodge podge, potato, stewed fruits and vegetables, buttermilk, lentil soups, boiled egg whites, and coconut water may all be good options to start with.
· Gradually, within 7-10 days, progress to regular, light, home cooked meals.
· Eating before taking pain killers or antibiotics helps reduce potential side-effects such as nausea and vomiting.
