ANGER MANAGEMENT

ANGER MANAGEMENT
1. Cause and effect
  • Anger is an intense emotion that leaves you spiteful and bitter.
  • It can be triggered by intrinsic and external factors and can lead to anxiety and depression.
  • Insecurity and inferiority complexes could also be the causes of your anger.
  • It can hamper your relationships, muddle your thinking and affect your behaviour patterns.
  • It can result in emotional and physical abuse, and other violent and criminal behaviours.
  • It can cause hypertension, heart problems, headaches, skin disorders and digestive problems.
2. Nip it in the bud
  • Have patience and perseverance, and accept that you get easily peeved.
  • If it is humiliation that bothers you, learn to laugh at yourself and look for humour in situations.
  • If somebody’s behaviour irks you, put yourself in their shoes to get a different perspective.
  • Note your anger patterns to help you keep track and gradually overcome them.
  • Control your thoughts and actions when feeling upset or angry.
  • You can't hurt people physically and emotionally just because you are annoyed.
  • Master the art of ignoring anything or anyone that can trigger anger in you with a smile.
  • Nothing can affect you till you let it affect you.
  • Understand that nothing is more important than peace of mind.
  • Practice forgiveness: remember, nothing annoys your foes more than forgiveness.
  • Meditate regularly, even if is a minute or two, as it helps uproot anger within.
3. Constructive anger
  • Its positive energy can help you stay firm and determined in handling different tasks.
  • Use it positively to boost your career, to have better relationships and a better life.
  • Instead of showing aggression, be assertive in your reactions.
  • When you channelise this energy, your constructive achievements can be unlimited.
